Hive girl Jacqui Hockaday update

Kat Hogg - Monday, October 21, 2013
Hive girl Jacqui Hockaday has been keeping busy, here is a recent update : "In July i competed in the South Australian State kitesurfing wave titles. This day was a testing day in 8 degrees, hail and rain. It had been snowing on the hills that morning on the way to the event!!! I took out the women's state title and the challenge had been set for me to compete with the men...I was entered in to the open men's division. This was an exciting day and ended up with a podium finish in both categories taking the Women's State title home and 3rd in the open men's. At the end of September I flew in to Adelaide and competed in the State Paddleboarding Race titles. I couldn't take my own board to this event as i flew in for the weekend so i had a board waiting for me in Adelaide and won the women's event with a nice lead. That was a great finish to the year with a total of 3 state titles with the other title being won back in February for the State Kiteboarding freestyle titles. Also i was the runner up in the South Australian Regional awards in sporting excellence in October. 2013 has been an exciting year with one of the major highlights being signed with BEST kiteboarding international as their Australian Female rider.
